What do I do if I have installation errors in Republic Commando?

posted on 2014/07/23

Can I move the program folder after installing the game?
If you wish to move the game to a new folder, we recommend that you uninstall first, then reinstall to the new location. When uninstalling, make sure to choose Yes when prompted to keep your user profile so you do not lose your progress. Simply moving the folder will cause the uninstaller to be unable to find the program and you will need to manually uninstall the game.

Where is the CD Key needed to install the game?
The CD Key should be located on the inside of the insert in the front of your CD jewel case for the game.

Please generate an analysis file for submission to the SecuROM tech support group so we may be of further assistance. The analysis file contains important information to help us analyze the program launch issues you are experiencing. After successfully creating the file, the necessary data will be exported and stored in an “AnalysisLog.sr0” file. Please perform the following steps outlined here: http://www.securom.com/support_enduser.asp?t=1

Disclaimer: The ability to generate the analysis file has been developed with your personal interest in mind to check for possible hardware and/or software incompatibility on your PC. To shorten the analysis time, system information is collected (similar to the Microsoft's msinfo32.exe program). Data will be compared with the SecuROM knowledge base to determine hardware and/or software conflicts. Submitting the analysis file is totally voluntary. The collected data is for evaluation purposes only and is not used in any other manner.

I am getting a "CDKEY" error message when I try to install the game.
Please note that there are no letter L's or i's, letter O's in any of the CD Keys, though a 1 (one) or 0 (zero) may look like a letter. Make sure you enter the appropriate number in such cases. Also note that all letters contained in the CD Keys are lower case, so make sure your keyboard's Caps Lock is not turned on.

To re-enter the key:

Open My Computer and navigate to the Install folder inside the STAR WARS™ Republic Commando folder on your hard drive. The default install location is: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\STAR WARS™ Republic Commando\Install

Double-click the CDKey.exe file and reenter your CD Key printed on the inside of the insert in the front of your CD jewel case for the game.

I am getting an error -6006 when I try to install the program.
If you are getting an error -6006 when you try to install the program, check the following:
1. The error will tell you to empty the Temp folder. Go ahead and delete the contents of the Temp folder.
2. Shut down all background applications running before launching the install.
3. If you are using Windows 2000/XP, you MUST be logged in as the Admin user.
4. Under Windows 2000/XP, make sure that the following folders are configured correctly (i.e., not pointing to a no longer mapped drive, sufficient permissions set for user).
  • Windows folder
  • Windows System folder
  • Common Files folder
  • Program Files folder
  • Personal folder
  • Application Data folder
  • Temporary folder

I am receiving a component transfer error message during the installation of the game.
This error usually occurs when you click too quickly when switching discs. If this occurs, you will need to wait until the drive spins down before clicking on OK. If this continues to occur, please try running the installer on another system to assure that the disc is functioning properly.

Why am I receiving an error during installation stating that there is not enough free space on the hard drive to install the game?
Installation requires hard drive space on your C drive even when you are installing to a different hard drive. If this occurs, you will need to free at least 20 MB on the C drive prior to installation.

Do the digital download versions of the games from Steam or Direct2Drive include all updates?
